With more than three decades of experience in telecommunications, fiber infrastructure, and construction, Steve P. has built a career leading some of the industry's most complex operations and high-performing teams. A graduate of Weber State University with a Bachelor of Science in Telecommunications Administration, Steve has dedicated 33 years to developing, building, and scaling telecommunications networks across the United States.
Steve began his career as a network technician and steadily advanced through the ranks to become Vice President of Operations for the United States at XO Communications. In that role, he oversaw field and central office operations, outside plant construction, wireless deployment, dispatch services, and installation, maintenance, and repair activities across 41 Tier 1 and Tier 2 markets.
His leadership experience also includes serving as Vice President of Field Service for Ledcor, Vice President and General Manager for FiberTel, and Vice President of Construction for Sorensen Construction. Steve also spent a decade as an Adjunct Professor at Weber State University, helping develop the next generation of telecommunications professionals.
Throughout his career, Steve has remained committed to a simple philosophy: build great teams, create opportunities for people to grow, and deliver exceptional value to customers. He believes that truly great infrastructure companies are defined by their culture, their ability to develop careers rather than jobs, and their dedication to long-term partnerships.
Three principles guide every decision Steve makes: quality, safety, and integrity. Regardless of the deadline or challenge, these standards remain non-negotiable. His leadership style is rooted in empathy and accountability, summarized by his belief that leaders should always be willing to "walk in another person's shoes."
When he's not building teams, businesses, and infrastructure, Steve jokes that he would have been a rock star—a reflection of the energy, passion, and drive he brings to everything he does.
